Business owners at the Northgate Mall in Lafayette are optimistic about the future of the once vibrant shopping center. Ebony Roberts, who left her teaching job to open a skincare business at the mall six years ago, emphasizes that there are still many thriving businesses at the Northgate Mall.

Over the years, the mall has faced challenges as businesses have moved to the more modern South side of town. Despite these changes, Cristal Henry of the Glam House, who recently opened her shop at the mall in hopes of drawing more local shoppers and businesses to the north side, believes that the Northgate Mall still has major potential for growth and success.

Christopher Rubin, a licensed cosmetologist at the mall, fondly recalls a time when it was the place to be for the north side community. He shares this optimism with business owners like Henry and Roberts, who both see value in reviving the Northgate Mall and attracting more businesses to the north side of Lafayette.
