Rob Katz, former CEO of Vail Resorts, to be honored with induction into the Colorado Business Hall of Fame

The Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and Junior Achievement-Rocky Mountain have announced the 2024 inductees into the Colorado Business Hall of Fame. Among them is Rob Katz, former CEO of Vail Resorts. Katz became CEO in 2006 and under his leadership, Vail Resorts grew from five to 41 resorts and increased its Broomfield headquarters staff from 200 to 1,200.

One of Katz’s notable achievements was the development of a season pass program that led to the launch of the industry-changing Epic Pass in 2008. In addition to his business accomplishments, Katz has also been involved in philanthropy through the Katz Amsterdam Foundation, which focuses on nonprofits in mountain communities that address mental and behavioral challenges. The foundation has given over $22 million back to the community.

Other honorees inducted into the Colorado Business Hall of Fame this year include Rose Andom, Pat Hamill, John A. Ikard, Steve Schuck, and Elizabeth Hickok Robbins Stone. The induction ceremony will take place at the annual Colorado Business Hall of Fame dinner on Feb. 15 at the Hyatt Regency Denver at the Colorado Convention Center, hosted by Denver7’s Brian Sanders.
