New Technology Lab to Enhance Religious Education and OCIA Classes

The new technology lab at Sacred Heart Church in Waianae was blessed by Father Jaime Jose on May 5. The lab, which features donated and refurbished iMac computers, will be used for religious education and OCIA classes at the church.

Iolani School in Honolulu generously donated the iMac computers to Sacred Heart Church. The nonprofit organization then reconfigured the computers for internet use before donating them to the church. This new technology will provide children and youth with digital lessons and videos to supplement their current Gospel Weeklies program.

Catechumens and candidates at Sacred Heart Church will also benefit from the new technology lab, as they will have access to online videos and resources that align with the church’s liturgical calendar of Mass readings and Gospel reflections during on-site classes. This will enhance their learning and understanding of the faith in a modern and engaging way.

Father Jaime Jose was pleased with the new technology lab, saying, “We are grateful for this generous donation from Iolani School, which will allow us to provide our catechumens, candidates, children, and youth with even more opportunities to learn about our faith.”

The new technology lab is just one of many initiatives being undertaken by Sacred Heart Church to enhance its programs and services for its members.
