CBS Sports Predicts Seattle Seahawks Will Return to Playoffs in 2024 Following One-Year Hiatus

The Seattle Seahawks narrowly missed the postseason last year, landing the No. 8 seed in the NFC. With a 9-8 record for the second year in a row, there is room for improvement. Changes have already been made with a new head coach, Mike Macdonald, taking over for longtime coach Pete Carroll, along with other staff adjustments.

Each season only 14 out of 32 teams make the playoffs, and each year, roughly half of those teams don’t return. CBS Sports has identified six teams that missed the playoffs in 2023 but are expected to make it in 2024. The Seahawks are one of these teams, as they are in a tough NFC West division with strong contenders like the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams. Despite the challenges, Seattle has talented players like DK Metcalf and Kenneth Walker III that could help them succeed.

Along with the Seahawks, CBS Sports predicts the New York Jets, Tennessee Titans, Cincinnati Bengals, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Atlanta Falcons will make the postseason next year. The Jets are banking on quarterback Aaron Rodgers returning after an injury sidelined him early in the 2023 season. It will be interesting to see if these projections hold true as the season unfolds
