After a traffic accident, the boy suffered the loss of his left leg

On May 14, Doctor Nguyen Minh Tien, Deputy Director of the City Children’s Hospital, provided an update on the condition of a 9-year-old boy who was involved in a motorbike accident. The patient, who lived in Long An, suffered from multiple injuries including shock, blood loss, and crushed bones in his left leg.

According to Dr. Tien, the medical team treated the boy in an emergency situation, addressing his difficult-to-measure blood pressure and shock. The orthopedic surgeons performed surgery to clean and wash the wounds on both legs, amputating a portion of the left femur. The team also conducted other procedures to stabilize the patient.

The family members of the patient expressed their shock and concern over the accident. They described how the boy fell off the motorbike and was run over by a truck while riding with his sister on May 12th. Despite these challenges ahead, Dr. Tien stated that efforts were being made to ensure that the patient receives the best care possible and has a chance for recovery with hopes of installing a prosthetic leg later on to replace his missing limb.

The medical team at Long An Children’s Hospital is dedicated to providing quality care to patients like this young boy who have been involved in accidents or sustaining serious injuries. With their expertise and dedication, they hope to help patients recover and live healthy lives after such traumatic experiences.

Dr. Tien emphasized that it is crucial for parents and guardians to take necessary precautions when traveling with children on motorbikes or any other means of transportation. By doing so, they can reduce the chances of accidents happening and ensure their safety while enjoying rides together.

In conclusion, this young boy’s case highlights how severe accidents can cause severe injuries that may require surgical intervention or even amputation in extreme cases. However, with proper medical care and attention from experts like Dr. Tien and her team at Long An Children’s Hospital, patients have a chance for recovery despite facing such challenging circumstances.
