The upcoming Super Bowl LVIII will have an alternate telecast on Nickelodeon and CBS Sports. This is the first time ever that these two networks will join together to present a unique version of the game, which pits the Kansas City Chiefs against the San Francisco 49ers. The parent company of both networks is Paramount Global.
The telecast will combine traditional game-day graphics with animation, making it a fun and engaging experience for viewers. Popular characters from SpongeBob SquarePants, including Sandy Cheeks, voiced by Carolyn Lawrence, and Larry the Lobster, will be joining the telecast live. Patrick Star and SpongeBob SquarePants will call the game alongside Nate Burleson and Noah Eagle.
Nickelodeon has been airing “NFL Slimetime” since 2021, a weekly show hosted by Burleson and child actor Dylan Gilmore. The duo will report live from Allegiant Stadium during the game.
If you’re watching the game with kids, this Nickelodeon broadcast might be just what you need to make it a more entertaining viewing experience for everyone involved.
