Downtown Orrville Business Seeks Permission to Offer Tattoo Services in Salon

In recent years, tattoo artists have been offering semi-permanent freckle tattoos on clients’ faces to achieve a natural, sun-kissed look. However, some people have raised concerns about the longevity of these tattoos, comparing them to “tramp stamps.”

Meanwhile, in Orrville, there is a proposal to add tattoo and body piercing shops to the downtown area. Genesis Beauty Salons are also looking to expand their services by offering microblading, a semi-permanent eyebrow process that is categorized as a tattoo under Health Department regulations. The request for microblading will be reviewed by the Orrville Planning Commission before undergoing a final decision by the City Council.

In addition to this, the council has approved the sale of approximately 4.9 acres to GMEG LLC for the construction of an industrial building near Hostetler Road. Meanwhile, safety concerns have been raised as tornado sirens will be tested monthly on the first Monday of each month starting from May 6th by Orrville Fire Department. Safety-Service Director Steve Wheeler has assured that the city is prepared for the upcoming total solar eclipse with plans in place for potential traffic management and additional staff availability.

The next council meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 15th at City Hall where further discussions on these matters will take place.
