Lions counter 49ers’ offer sheet for Brock Wright

The Lions have announced that they will be matching the offer sheet signed by restricted free agent tight end Brock Wright with the 49ers. This decision was made in order to keep Wright on their roster, rather than allowing him to leave for their NFC Championship Game opponents. The deal is reportedly for three years and worth $12 million, with $6 million guaranteed.

Wright has played in 41 games for the Lions over the last three seasons, accumulating 43 catches for 424 yards and seven touchdowns. By matching the offer, he will not have to adjust to a new offensive scheme ahead of the 2024 season. Wright will continue to team up with Sam LaPorta as the top tight ends in Tennessee.
