Police report man fleeing scene following attempted robbery at Dunham’s Sports

Two attempted robberies at the same store in the last six months have raised concerns about safety and security in Benton Township. On Sunday, at around 10 a.m., an individual entered Dunham’s Sports wearing a mask and attempting to steal handguns by breaking the glass of the gun case. However, when store workers responded, the suspect fled without taking any firearms.

This incident is not an isolated occurrence as it follows a December kidnapping of the store manager and theft of two large coolers filled with guns. The community is being urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to help prevent further criminal incidents. The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office can be contacted at (269)-983-7141 for anyone with information regarding the suspect or the incident.
