NBC Chicago reports that the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago closed unexpectedly on Wednesday for maintenance.

Illinois schools are currently on spring break, and a popular Chicago museum has announced that it will be closed on Wednesday due to unforeseen maintenance issues. The Museum of Science and Industry made the announcement on its website, stating that individuals who had purchased advance tickets would receive a refund or reschedule their visit by calling (773) 684-1414.

The post also mentioned that the museum was set to reopen on Thursday for its regular operating hours. The MSI had extended its hours for spring break from Monday to Thursday, opening at 9:30 a.m. and closing at 5:30 p.m. On April 8th, the museum’s normal operating hours of 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. were set to resume.

On April 21st, the museum is planning to offer free admission to Illinois residents as part of Earth Day celebrations. Additional details about the unexpected closure on Wednesday can be found on the museum’s website
