Vestas to Introduce Integrated Technology, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain Division

Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has announced a new organizational structure that combines its technology, manufacturing, and global procurement functions to streamline operations and accelerate industrialization. The company’s Group President and CEO, Henrik Andersen, highlighted the importance of this organizational evolution in meeting customer commitments and achieving efficiency in ramp-up and industrialization efforts.

As a result of this restructuring, the current COO, Tommy Rahbek Nielsen, has decided to explore opportunities outside the company, ending more than 25 years of service with Vestas. Anders Nielsen, the current chief technology officer, will lead the CTOO organization as part of the changes.

This new structure, called the technology and operations organization (CTOO), is a merger of the company’s technology organization (CTO) and manufacturing and global procurement organization (COO). The restructuring will focus on senior management positions and is not expected to involve operational level changes.

Aside from the organizational changes, Vestas recently secured a conditional agreement to supply wind turbines for a large-scale offshore wind project in Europe. The specific details of the client or project were not disclosed by the company. The move demonstrates Vestas’ continued commitment to driving advancements in the renewable energy sector through innovative solutions and strategic partnerships.
