Ex-NFL Quarterback Vince Young implicated in altercation at Houston bar

On February 4, 2021, a bizarre incident involving former NFL quarterback and UT alumnus Vince Young occurred at Tokyo Joe’s in Houston. A viral video showed Young involved in an intense altercation with a group of people at the bar.

In the clip, Young is seen sitting at the bar with a group of individuals who appear to be arguing. The situation escalates rapidly as more people approach him, getting in his face and throwing drinks. Eventually, the group moves to the other side of the bar, drawing more participants and spectators.

During the scuffle, Young is punched by one of the men involved in the fight, causing him to fall to the ground briefly before standing back up. Despite ABC 13 reporting that bar staff were also involved in the fight and called 911, no charges were filed by Houston Police Department.

Vince Young is an accomplished athlete who played football for UT from 2002 to 2004 and later played six seasons in the NFL. He was also a runner-up for the 2005 Heisman Trophy.
