Yet another vehicle collides with a Wytheville establishment

On Wednesday morning, a Tennessee driver accidentally crashed her car into Wytheville’s Waffle House. The incident occurred at 1,400 East Main St. at 3:47 a.m. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the collision. This marks the third time in recent years that a vehicle has collided with a business in the town.

The driver, 61-year-old Robin Noe from Kingsport, Tennessee, explained that her foot slipped off the brake and onto the accelerator as she was attempting to park in front of the Waffle House. This led to the crash through the glass and into the building. Police were called to the scene and investigated but found no evidence of driver impairment and did not press charges, considering it a private property incident to be settled by insurance companies.

This is not the first time that Wytheville has experienced such an accident involving a vehicle colliding with a business. In February 28th, two people were injured when a similar crash occurred at Wytheville’s Dollar Tree store due to an elderly woman mistakenly pressing the accelerator instead of brakes pedal while driving her Ford Taurus through its front door. The Dollar Tree store was still repairing damage from another crash in 2023 involving an elderly woman who also drove into their store due to mistakenly pressing on brakes instead of gas pedal but no injuries were reported in that incident. Despite these occurrences, efforts are being made to ensure public safety and prevent similar accidents from happening again in future
