Vinecki takes first place in aerials World Cup in Lac-Beauport, regains top spot in World Cup standings

Winter Vinecki earned her third individual win of the season in the aerials event in Lac-Beauport, Canada, on a day with rain and clouds that led athletes to adjust their game plans.

The U.S. team had a strong showing, with five women and two men advancing to the finals. This included Winter Vinecki, who had missed out on the previous day’s finals but qualified in the second position on Sunday.

In the finals, Vinecki almost lost her balance but her score was enough to put her in the sixth position to advance into the super finals. Chris Lillis fell hard in the finals but avoided injury.

On this day, athletes had to adapt their strategies due to rainy and cloudy conditions. The final round saw Vinecki come out on top by performing a back lay-full-full as the only woman attempting a triple. This led her to her third individual win and fourth overall win of the season, earning her the yellow leader’s bib.

After this victory, Winter Vinecki will lead her team to Almaty, Kazakhstan for their final World Cup of the season on Mar. 10 following a rest and training period.
